Greetings from IGOF. Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu have shared a close relationship in the field of healthcare in the last 200 years. The Indo-German Orthopaedic Foundation celebrates the best innovation and technology in the field of trauma and orthopaedics in India and Germany.
We are overjoyed that the upcoming course on Trauma and Revison Joint Replacement will take place in Visakhapatnam on July 26th, 27th and 28th, 2013. The aim of the Indo-German Orthopaedic Foundation is to highlight young orthopaedic surgeons and involve as many upcoming specialists in the field of trauma and orthopaedics within the region. A novel approach to increase the interaction across the age groups as well as between experts and budding orthopaedic surgeons has led to the creation of several interesting programs. The Mohandas Weller Award, The Grand Orthopaedic Quiz, The Great Debate and “My Worst Case” all add to the enrichment of this conference.
I urge you to be present on all the days of the conference to have an all round view of trauma and orthopaedics and to engage actively in the live surgery sessions every afternoon.

“The Great Debate” is a program to unearth conflicting standpoints among experts for in-depth analysis of pros and cons of techniques used in case of Unstable Intracapsular fracture of the neck of femur through Hemiarthoplasty and Total Hip Replacement.

IGOF organizes the Grand Orthopaedic Quiz to test the sharpest IQs from some of the finest minds in the healthcare fraternity. The platform welcomes those medical professionals who have a penchant for the intricacies in the field of orthopaedics. The event offers an opportunity to stamp a seal of authority in the country’s premier battle of the medical brains.
Participation Requisites
- Should be a Post Graduate trainee
- Each team should send CV of all team members (Total 3 members per team) to registrations@igof.in by 19th July, 2013 (Friday)
Accolades
- Winning team shall be awarded cash prize of Rs. 9000
- First Runners up team shall be awarded cash prize of Rs. 3000
Certification
- Every participant shall claim their participation certificate

MOHANDAS – WELLER GOLD MEDAL AWARD
The prestigious Mohandas – Weller Gold Medal Award is the only one of its kind that celebrates, encourages and inspires the next generation of orthopaedicians. It is conferred to a healthcare professional or a student who can come up with innovative ideas or a distinguished presentation on a complex case.
The Mohandas – Weller award is an initiative to boost the budding talent to spread their lateral thinking across various interests in the field of orthopaedics and to attend complex scenarios with special interest, giving attention to details, to crack difficult problems.
Participation Requisites for Free Paper Presentation
- Should be a Post Graduate or
- Young Orthopaedic surgeons aged below 40 years
Procedure
- The participants have to register and then submit the paper at the preview booth before 9am on the day of their presentation
- Only first 5 registrants (1 presentation by each) will be selected for this pre-lunch presentation
- 5 papers can be presented before lunch on each day (all 3 days)
- Each presentation will be for 4 mins
- 1 min for questions
